Description
Here is my first full body figure drawing. I love the different contrast in textures and the pose of the model. It was love at first sight, and I decided to make a drawing of it.
I felt like my hard work has been paid off so far. I know it's not perfect and there's always room for improvement. At the same time, I don't want to linger on the same drawing forever. Here is what I came up with with nearly a month of restless nights (besides my day job.)
I named this "Shallow Depth of Feel." It's my pun of the phrase "shallow depth of field." In photography, it's the contrast between focus and out-of-focus objects within the same image so the main subject is emphasize. I use "FEEL" because there is emotion in it. Ironically, it's not that "shallow."
What do you think? Leave me a comment or favorite/like it if you like. Thanks for watching!
Pencil: 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, & 4B
Paper: 11x14 Strathmore 300 Bristol Vellum
Other: kneaded eraser, electric eraser, and brush
Duration: 05/30/2012 ~ 06/27/2012
